The first vessel from China in 2026 arrived at the Arkhangelsk seaport;
it was travelling along the Northern Sea Route as part of the multimodal
“Arctic Express No. 1” route.
This was reported on September 23 by the regional government.
The vessel, owned by the Chinese company Hainan Yangpu NewNew Shipping, delivered about 880 containers of automotive components
to the Arkhangelsk Region. On the return flight from Arkhangelsk to China, 540 containers containing timber industry products from CJSC “Lesozavod 25”
and nickel concentrate will be shipped.
“The development of container transportation remains an important area of work for the region. China is one of the main trading partners
of the Arkhangelsk Region, accounting for more than 50% of its trade turnover. And the Northern Sea Route makes it possible to directly
and in the shortest possible time connect our port with Asian markets,” said Alexander Tsybulsky, Governor of the Arkhangelsk Region.
The multimodal route “Arctic Express No. 1” forms a single logistics corridor between Pomorye and Ki.
