At the Zelenodolsk plant named after A.M. Gorky
(part of the Ak Bars Shipbuilding Corporation), the tugboat “Kuloy”
was launched. This is already the fourth vessel in a series of five
tugboats of the T3150-ZD project, the Russian Ministry of Transport
reported on June 22.
According to the ministry, “Kuloy” is a multifunctional ice‑class rescue vessel. It will be able to tow non-self-propelled
vessels and floating structures, assist in mooring ships, participate in extinguishing fires and eliminating oil spills.
The vessel is being built under the technical supervision of specialists from the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS).
Technical supervision during the construction process is carried out by specialists of the Zelenodolsk site of the Nizhny Novgorod branch of RS.
A series of tugboats of the T3150-ZD project is being created as part of the national project "Efficient Transport System" and will help improve
the safety of work in ports and in ice conditions.
It should be recalled that the launch of the Verman-series tugboat took place in December 2025.
The developer of the T3150-ZD project is LLC “Marine Engineering Center SPb” (“MEC SPb”).
