This was announced by the governor of the Astrakhan region,
Igor Babushkin, on social media.
According to the head of the region, the production site will specialize in the creation of high‑tech ship components,
including main and auxiliary power plants, pumping equipment, and specialized loading and unloading complexes.
In the early stages of the project, the plant will produce ship engines and equipment; later, it will expand its activities by building river‑sea
class vessels. Production will be carried out by JSC “KIT Shipbuilding Lotos,” which has already received the status of a resident of the
special economic zone. The investor will allocate 2.3 billion rubles for the project. The plan is to create over 150 new jobs.
It is expected that the new production facility will ensure technological independence in shipbuilding, reduce logistics costs for customers
due to its proximity to shipbuilding enterprises, and enable the implementation of turnkey projects. It should be recalled that one of the
residents of the Lotos SEZ is the Lotos shipbuilding plant of the Southern Center for Shipbuilding and Ship Repair of the United Shipbuilding Corporation.
