RS is developing cooperation with a manufacturer of flame‑retardant fabrics and fire‑resistant materials.

The Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RMRS) and the company 
“TK Treartex” have entered into a cooperation agreement in the field 
of fire safety of ships. This was reported on January 12 by
the RMRS press service.


According to the classification society, the document was signed by RMRS General Director Sergey Kulikov and General Director 
of LLC “TK Treartex” Maria Grigorenko.

The agreement is aimed at developing partnership in the field of shipbuilding and ship repair, in particular, in the area of improving 
fire safety in the fleet. The main focus of the joint work will be on fire‑resistant fabrics and fire‑retardant materials.

The parties plan to jointly develop measures and standards for the safe use of fire‑retardant materials and fabrics on ships; 
to explore new opportunities for using such materials in the shipbuilding industry; to cooperate on issues related to the certification 
of fabrics, products made from them, and fire‑retardant materials; to exchange information and experience, and to conduct consultations 
and joint events.
